Land protected by a community is a
precious asset for the world and in our
Spring edition we hope you enjoy the
stories of some of these important
locations in King.
Artist Andrea Loeppky paints landscapes in King and we
thank her for the Holland Marsh scene for our cover.
We welcome new contributors as well as our regulars
who present nostalgic, historical and informative stories.
Read Winds of Change about the barns at Cold Creek
Conservation, Ecoguardian - the role of a community elder
- a chapter from a new book by local authors Ann Love and
Jane Drake. (This chapter from Alien Invaders is modeled
after their father Dr. Henry Barnett who has helped
conserve some of the land in this community). We visit
Jokers Hill which is having a global impact as The Koffler
Scientific Centre and is hopefully only the first of many
stories about our new neighbours.
Thank you to Arts Society King who have compiled the
spring events for us. Please note ASK
Studio Tour is earlier this year.
Enjoy your Spring here in King!
