June 27 to September 20 – Challenging Traditions: Contemporary First Nations Art of the Northwest Coast at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. It showcases a collection of over seventy pieces of contemporary art and investigates how artists are drawing inspiration from history and grappling with the challenges of interpreting traditional design and transforming it into modern-day Northwest Coast art. www.mcmichael.com

July 9 – Tom Thomson was a Weatherman with Phil Chadwick. Environment Canada Meteorologist, Phil, also a painter in his own right, will present a subset of Tom Thomson paintings from a collection of over 200 to which he has applied “forensic meteorology.” 7 p.m. at the

July 18 to October 11 – Collaboration between Charles Pachter and Margaret Atwood – Atwood’s poetry with Pachter’s visual imagery at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Approximately thirty original prints with the accompanying poems from Atwood and Pachter’s livre
d’artiste will be exhibited. The original prints in the publication required 115 separate colour runs – over 14,000 handpulled impressions – which limited Pachter’s production of the book to only 120 copies. www.mcmichael.com
