Come join us at the library and check out this
summer’s JUNGLE FUN programming. This
year’s Summer Reading Club theme is DESTINATION
JUNGLE! Children and their families
will be able to come into the library starting
on the first day of summer, June 21st, to
sign up for this extremely popular programme.
The club will be held throughout the summer
and ends on August 20th.
All ages are welcome to join! Members will
receive a poster, stickers and a magazine all
free! The magazine is based on the Destination
Jungle theme and contains games, activities
and a reading log sheet. This is where
children will record the number of books that
they read throughout the summer. Young
ones who are not at the age to read will also
be able to join as it is encouraged that an
older sibling or parent can read to them! For
every book read the reader will receive one
ballot and the chance to enter them into our
bi-weekly prize draws that are held in each of
the 4 King Township Library branches. The
more books that are read the greater the
chance of winning a prize!
The Libraries will also be hosting weekly
club meetings. Children ages 6 and older will
be able to attend. Please pre-register your
children when signing up for the club, space is
limited. The meetings are all on crazy jungle
themes that the kids will love! Dates and
times will be given to your child when the Children’s
Librarian visits the schools in June!
The goal of this programme is to get children
and their families excited about reading!
The library prides itself on literacy based programming.
All of our events encourage a love
of reading by using fun and inventive concepts
for your children to enjoy.
A big THANK YOU to TD Canada Trust for
the sponsorship of the posters, magazines
and stickers.
