Over the years, Nobleton WI has raised funds and has supported an amazing number of projects. The members of the WI take great pride in the urban renewal project in Cherry Park. As you can see by the names on the sign in the photo, many partners were involved in this project and today the park is a pleasing oasis in our busy four corners. Another of those connecting threads- the park is located on the site of the former Cherry home. Mr James Cherry was
caretaker at the Community Hall and his wife was a life member
of Nobleton WI. Their daughters and grandchildren were
pleased with the honour of the newly renovated park when
they came back “home” for the dedication ceremony in 2002.

In 1937, Nobleton WI expressed the desire to build a community hall and began fundraising. The hall was built and has served to community over the years as well as supplying a home for the WI and the Nobleton Lion’s Club. In 2007, it was designated as an historical building and the roof and kitchen facilities were updated. This year, a Heritage plaque for the hall will be unveiled.
