Now & Then
Photographs of our
communities, as they are
now, as they once were

Dr. George Lockhart of King City
served as physician to that community
from 1900 until his death in 1941. He
was a familiar sight in the area, regularly
making house calls, in the summer
by horse and buggy, and in the
winter by horse and cutter.
His home on the west side of Doctor’s
Lane at the intersection of King
Road is still a landmark in the town.
This 1912 photo shows his three children,
Douglas, Randolph & Louise and
also shows the magnificent porch that
graced two sides of the building.
Unfortunately, the dark blotch in the
“Then” picture is part of the photo.
The property is now used to house
commercial businesses. |
