Although it is pretty much overwhelmed by the arrival of Canada's Wonderland, road construction, and a lot of new housing, Teston is still a community to be found in our region. It is about a mile north of Major Mac on Jane Street. The following is from “New Year's Greetings” published by Roy Cooper, the town's Shur-Gain Dealer in a local newspaper in the late 1940's.

"Did you know that in Vaughan Township there is a little town called Teston. It consists of a church, a few houses, a Blacksmith Shop, a Case Implement Dealer, General Store, Hardware Store, and a Shur-Gain Feed Service Mill."

"In this mill you will find feed for all your fine stock. Also you will find people who will grind your grain, and hand out feed, and as a premium you may get a joke thrown in for good measure. They seem to have plenty of them. Now you may want some hardware. You will find this in the store, and there also you may find a joke tied up with your order. If you want to see the proprietor, he may be in the mill, the store, or on the road - getting goods for you or out taking them to you."

"At this time of year we would like to thank all our customers of the past sixteen years for their patronage and we hope to serve you and any new customers that would like to shop in our humble little town, as we are ready to serve you from the time we get up in the morning till we get to bed at night. Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year."
